DEETS + PARTICULARS
Yes and no.
The Jazz Weekender is a long weekend of music celebration. However, we’ve re-imagined our event to have less stage changes and only ONE band featuring the most decorated ensemble of musicians on the planet offering audiences the opportunity to experience collaborative sets between the music world’s A-Team of musicians and our legendary special guests.
Superstars and mega talents come to play with the Jazz Weekender House Band to enjoy this rare opportunity to have such incredible musicians together all on one stage together, led by our host with the most, Nathan East!
Jazz Weekending is also a bit more relaxed than a typical festival event, while there are lots of options to do things during the days at one of our several excursion add-ons, you’ll also have the option to do nothing at all, but perhaps relax at home base at our host resort or walk around Carmel-by-the-Sea or drive down the coast to Big Sur for lunch,
The Jazz Weekender is a truly customizable music & lifestyle experience.

The Jazz Weekender is taking place on the world famous Monterey Peninsula, home of SmoothJazz.com Global Radio, the most beautiful place in the world, but then we’re biased!
The Peninsula includes the cities of Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove, Seaside and Pebble Beach. The area is famous for many things, including Cannery Row (a must-see for Steinbeck fans), the Monterey Bay Aquarium and 17-Mile Drive.
We have a never-ending supply of local gastronomic discoveries including cafes, bars, and hipster coffee houses. Your Jazz Weekender support team or the hotel Concierge will be happy to provide you with ideas on where to go, what to do and where to eat.
The Monterey Bay Area is known for it’s micro-climates and mild temperatures year round, with February highs between 60-70º F and lows between 45-55º F. However, temperatures can shift as much as 20-40º in a 24 hr period depending on where you are on the Peninsula – the coast being cooler than the valley – so layers are recommended. While winter is our rainy season, and last year was a bounce back from our 7 years of drought, February can either be rainy or sunny, so check your weather app before you come to pack accordingly.
While the weather is consistently mild year-round, our winter months are cooler and bring the occasional shower. February often delivers highs in the low to mid 60’s and lows in the 40’s.
Valentine’s Weekend 2019 was a rain fest as much as it was jazz fest, however, we believe that was the backlash to California’s 7 year drought.
On average, there are 269 sunny days per year in Carmel. The US average is 205 sunny days. The Monterey Peninsula gets some kind of precipitation, on average, 69 days per year.
Nothing. All of our events and excursions are held indoors where you’ll be safe and dry.
We do have plans to move some things outside should we be fortunate enough to have a sunny Monterey Bay weekend, as it’s been known to happen in February.
Events are happening Rain or Shine.
If your matter cannot wait until the venue opens at the Clubhouse, where you will easily find a staff member, you can leave a message with Quail Lodge’s front desk for Jazz Weekender organizers and we will reply as time permits.
You may also try our Main Office at 831-649-1223, Mon-Fri, 9:00AM – 6:00PM and request support.
